Welcome!

WE'RE ELI & LARISSA COTTRELL

We decided in 2015 that Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs were the breed we wanted to raise alongside our family due to their friendly personalities, great temperament, size, and beauty. Our girls, Alaya and Addison, adore the dogs and love to play with them. We raise our Swissies at our 3.5-acre renovated country home. At Walnut Lane Acres, we take great care to breed high quality, breed standard dogs, and typically only have 2-3 litters per year. We live in the heart of the midwest, about 2 1/2 hours south of Chicago. We’re glad you’re here, and we hope we have the opportunity to meet soon!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Check out our pricing page here.

We believe you should pick out the puppy you desire for your family. However, we are always happy to make recommendations based on our observations.

Your puppy will be AKC registered/registerable. It will be vet-checked and come up-to-date on its shots. It will be well-loved and socialized during its time with us. We will provide a portion of recommended puppy food for you, along with a limited health guarantee. We provide lifetime support and you can reach out to us anytime with questions (and photos!).

Yes, both ourselves and our children will interact often with the puppies.

No, we do not microchip our puppies.

If transporting your puppy to you is necessary, we have several ground shipping options we have used along with flight transportation. While the prices vary, you can expect somewhere in the ballpark of $500-$800.

While our Swissies are welcome indoors every day on the front rug, as a rule for us they are not indoor dogs. With several dogs, it wouldn’t be possible for us to keep a clean enough house especially with raising children. We provide a safe, comfortable environment for them, and spend time with them daily. We are actively involved with them, often taking them to the park for walks or to the lake for a swim.
