Once we know that puppies are expected, we reach out to our waiting list on a first-come, first-serve basis. We begin official reservations with a deposit when the puppies are 4-5 weeks old, via photos and/or video, and stay in touch with weekly photo updates. Our puppies are well-socialized with adults and children, vet-examined, AKC registered, and up-to-date on deworming and immunizations. We work hard to give each puppy a solid base for potty training, so that the transition to their new home can be as smooth as possible. Each puppy will be ready for his new home at 8 weeks old, and is sent home with a starter pouch of puppy food, a comfort blanket, and a gift for their new family. Beyond that, we are always available for questions that may arise, and love to receive updates of our Swissies thriving with their new families!

As responsible breeders, giving each of our dogs adequate attention is a priority for us. Each one is a special part of our lives. We take them to the park, take them on walks, take them with us to our family pond. They are invited inside often (see below) and also have access to our entire property. You’ll notice on our Meet our Swissies page that one of our dogs, Paisley, lives with a local guardian family – which is a program we’ve started to be able to give each of our breeding dogs the undivided attention they deserve as we grow. This also gives them a chance to stay with their forever family long after they are retired from our program, which is important to us.

As a rule for us, our Swissies are not living with us in our home. With four dogs and young children, it would be next to impossible to keep a state of order and a high standard of cleanliness. However, our dogs do have access to insulated, heated shelter (see photo above) and are daily invited inside to our front rug to get in on the family action.
